About us
xDimg is a brand of xDevelop GmbH, an engineering consultancy based in Salzburg, Austria, with a team of more than ten working across hardware, firmware, embedded software, mechanical, and RF design for small-series and custom electronic products — from wearables to automotive and medical-device projects.
Advanced camera and imaging system design has long been one of xDevelop's core engineering capabilities — but choosing the right sensor, optics, light source, and processing platform for a given application usually means weeks spent cross-referencing datasheets by hand, especially once multiple cameras or a multi-stage processing chain (MCU, application processor, FPGA) are involved.
xDimg turns that internal expertise into a self-service design tool: the same compatibility checks our own engineers rely on, available directly to the people specifying imaging systems — integrators, product designers, and engineers evaluating what's actually possible before committing to a design.
xDimg configurations are a starting point, not a final word — every submission is reviewed by an xDevelop engineer. Complex or unusual requirements are exactly the kind of project xDevelop's broader engineering practice, at xdevelop.at, is built for.
Our history
xDevelop OG was founded in 2009 by Michael Haider and Bernhard Wörndl-Aichriedler, two students at HTL Salzburg. While Michael Haider pursued a career in academia and became Dr.-Ing. Michael Haider at the world-renowned TUM, Bernhard Wörndl-Aichriedler continued the work as a sole proprietor under the xDevelop name while finishing his studies.
In 2015 the company moved into a small office in central Salzburg, which it expanded in 2018. Outgrowing that location, it moved to a much larger office in 2021. A decade of continuous growth made it necessary to restructure the company into today's xDevelop GmbH. Now with more than ten employees, the office space was expanded again in 2024 and 2025, and in 2026 xDevelop launched xDimg, its own brand for camera and imaging systems.
The company can look back on well over a decade of exciting projects, released products and solved technical challenges.
